The USS Orion and all FSO IRC Sims, sim on irc.superchat.org. In order to get access to IRC, you need an IRC client. We recommend mIRC 5.41.

Once you connect to a Superchat IRC server, join channel #FSO. There are usually people there during the day. Feel free to chat.
